Low Rise Structures & Load Bearing Masonry
SCIA ENGINEER gives the design engineer a great degree of control in the restraints that can be applied to structural elements. Even for low rise load bearing masonry structures, we can therefore complete a full 3D elastic structural analysis model to determine member sizes and stresses.
This means a highly bespoke solution, with every structural element size minimised, keeping all material costs as low as possible.
Once the structural design model has been created, we can respond very quickly to design changes and complete value engineering and scenarios to keep construction costs as low as possible. We can easily vary block strengths and widths so that high strength wide blocks are only utilised at the absolute peak stress locations. Similarly our foundation solutions will be as cost effective as possible as this method of completing structural calculations leads to a minimum weight structure.
